Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Well another Drum Corps season has come and gone, and 40 years since i last marched in a Tiersmen uniform back in 1969. I hope that any one that visits the web site will continue to enjoy it as much as i have setting it up. Although i still have much to ad namely photo's. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas and encourage everyone to participate in the activity in any way you can. It may be supporting a local drum corps show in your area, or taking a vacation to go to one of the big events like DCI in Indianapolis, or DCA in Rochester next year. May be you could buy a drum corps item off e-bay or a souvenir on line at one of the many Corps sites, or go to Drum Corps Planet and sponsor a member with his or her tour fee's they now have to pay any where from $900 to $1900 to march. Thanks!!!

Hello Tiersman Corps,
I just found the website quite by accident and it is so great to see that someone has taken the time to put together a web site for the corps of our youth. Keep up the great work.
Most apopreciatively, Paula Spiro, Color Guard and Tenor Drummer for the corps color guard exhibitions and competitions.

Just arrived thanks to Ben VanKurin of The Barons Of Steuben new Tiersmen recordings from 1967 and now we have the lost 1968 recordings thanks Ben. Wow will this bring back memories. I will admit i have never been a drum line guy but i am impressed on how good the drum line was back then!!!

On the field the Penn-York Drum Corps Association is proud to present from Hornell New York the Tiersmen is your corps Ready!

1967 recording 9-9-67 Corning NY
1968 7-13-68 Hornell NY
7-20-68 Elmira NY
8-10-68 Owego NY (partial)
8-25-68 Liverpool NY Penn-York Championship

Thinking back now we should have had the American Legion sponsor us as well and we would have been in more shows. The other thing that is enjoyable about these recordings is the feed back from the people in the stands. We were warmly received and appreciated for our efforts on the field from the applause in the stands.

Please list me in the hornline from 1964 to 1965. My sister Paula marched in the colorguard during those years also. During the winter of 1965, Paula played tenor drum to back the winter guard. She turned professional and stills teaches and plays in New York City. My parents actively supported the corps, with my mother attending all corps functions (including chaparoning the Lake Placid trip) and my dad procured the first set of blue and gold corps jackets through his store on Main St. I'm a little unhappy that we aren't listed among the corps membership and I hope you will correct that situation quickly. Thanks, Lee
